The fruit of our labor is finally out!

It has been a desire for some time to compile some of the wonderful testimonies from ushers in Service 3 - how God has ministered to them even as they serve in the Usher Ministry. And frankly, even as we compiled all the words from various ones, I was deeply touched by what God has done in their lives even as they take a step of faith and serve the Lord!

In December, we had a thanksgiving dinner for all Service 3 ushers; we had a mighty feast, all thanks to the wonderful ushers who brought delicious food. It was a great night of fellowship; fun and laughter. You will be able to read more about it on page 5.

Having spent more than 10 years in this ministry, all the ushers are more like my family, not just co-workers in Christ. I strongly believe that God has brought us together for a reason. We are not just here to open and close doors or to pass buckets down the row, but to make a difference in every life we encounter! Especially so, since as ushers we carry a heavy responsibility of being God’s ambassadors! The first person a new friend or a guest meets is usually not the pastor but ushers like you and I.

Imagine your smile brightening up a tired face! Imagine what your kind words and thoughtful actions to overseas guests can do to ease their stress and uneasiness in a foreign land.

Serving the Lord helps us to put aside the “I, me and myself” mentality and learn to put others first. I must admit that it has been a really fun but challenging time. It is not easy to decide to trust in the Lord and step out in faith to serve even though I may have tons of other commitments. God is good! Every time when I decide to trust in and lean upon Him, He has never failed to bring me to a greater level of breakthrough!

And it isn't just me: you will also be able to see various testimonies in our bulletin of how as our ushers decided to take a step of faith, God did wonders for them in their work or business!

I am really excited about what God is going to do in CHC in the next 6 months to come. Recently, we learnt in our CG sermon that to excel is to let God come forth! It is not just about doing well in our work or studies but in our lifestyle, but are we letting God come out of us to touch the lives around us?

The Usher Ministry is a great place to begin practicing letting God’s love, joy and peace come out of us! If you are not in any ministry yet, why not join our big family and experience the joy of serving Him and letting Him come forth in your life to make a difference in the world around us?

All you need is to fill up the response slip on the last page of the bulletin; hand it to your friend who gave you this bulletin and we will handle the rest!

And to the wonderful ushers of Service 3, it has been a great honor to be able to serve with a bunch of such committed, faith-filled and passionate people. Let us march forth together into greater heights with the Lord!
