Christopher (Section 6)
I joined the Usher Ministry last year in the month of December. I did not intend to join the ministry at first, but I obeyed my CGL and decided to join anyway as I had a great smile. For the first few months, I hated the ministry as I had to wear formal wear and had to do many things, like preparing the bulletins, traffic marshal, etc. I did not have any joy and motivation to serve in the ministry.
After all, mindsets change. Praise the Lord for a team leader like Sister Tizane; she did not blame or despise me despite my stupid mistakes. Instead, she showed a lot of patience in teaching me the ways of being an usher, but that is only one of the many reasons that really changed my view on the ministry. When my CGL preached about willingness during a CG meeting, I was touched by the message and was convicted to be willing in whatever I do especially in serving in the Usher Ministry. Not long after I made that decision, I was greatly blessed by God. I began to look at what I can do in the ministry to serve God even more, rather than focus on the sacrifices I have to make for God while serving.
The Usher Ministry has changed me a lot -- Besides developing a servanthood heart and increasing my capacity, I also learnt how to relate to people. I have no regrets in joining this Ministry. It is a great stepping stone to preparing me for my destiny.
This is the ministry that can stretch and mould you. Join us in the Usher Ministry and find your great destiny in God now. =)
